About the Author

Thomas S. Fiske grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, and received a bachelor�s degree in business from Western Reserve University. He received a MBA from Case Western Reserve University in 1968.

Retired from a manufacturing corporation as Vice President with many years of managing people and facilities, Tom had a lucky break in 1991. He fell up some stairs and broke both legs. While recovering from surgery he began to think about family history stories his mother and grandmother told him and his promise to record them one day.

As a young boy during WWII, Tom was confused by war news he heard and read. He chose to tell the story of a first cousin�s European war experiences in order the settle in his own mind and perhaps in the minds of younger readers what happened and why. Tom lives with his wife, Evie (a school teacher and primary editor of his works) in Fullerton, CA.
