This let us know that anyone could study and teach the Word, and they, themselves do not believe the Word when the manifestation comes. Jesus is the Light that pointed man back in the direction to God, whereas the law pointed to death. He is The Lamb of God because He was the ultimate and final sacrifice that was offered for the sons of people; not only for Israel, but for the whole world! And with that, this included you and me!
