Overview

Ten Thousand Miles, Five Weeks, Two Oceans-

And one man's physical, emotional, spiritual, and psychedelic pilgrimage across the continent of North America, where he spread his father's ashes, opened up his heart and mind, and allowed the universe to teach him how to turn loss into love and grief into gratitude, one microdose at a time.
'From Sea To Shining Sea: Microdosing Across America' is a unique and personal story, but its pages are bound together by universal themes.  At its core, it is a story about processing loss, leaning into love, and learning how the natural world around us can chemically and spiritually aid in those processes.  Culturally, this is not a retelling of the perpetual African American struggle,  but a retelling of emerging African American triumph.  Honoring those we've lost, loving those we still have, exploring the open road, and looking at the world through fresh eyes are the prevailing themes of this story.

Respectfully, this memoir could be described as one part 'Eat, Pray, Love' (the male millennial version) by Elizabeth Gilbert, and one part 'Dreams From My Father' (before the Presidency was even a thought) by Barack Obama. Then, add a dash of 'Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas' by Hunter S. Thompson and 'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance' by Robert Pirsig- finished in the furnace of the authors soul for thirty-five days.

This is a story for anyone who has ever lost a parent or a loved one, anyone who is curious about psychedelics, specifically psilocybin, and anyone who has ever just wanted to get in the car and drive.

Fungi (mushrooms magical and not), psilocybin, and other psychedelics are emerging in a conflux of cultures right now, from medicine to therapy to coffee to tech.  In my humble opinion, there has never been a better time than now to tell a story like this one.
