About the Author

Svetlana Karitskaya, Ph.D., is a docent/assistant professor in the Mathematics Department at Ural Federal University named after The First President of Russia Boris Yeltsin. She teaches general mathematics to undergraduate and graduate level students specialized in thermal engineering, electrical engineering and electrical technology, metallurgy, mechanical engineering and materials processing.

Svetlana received her Ph.D. in thermal and molecular physics from Moscow State Forest University in 1997. With respect to her research work, she studies modern computational methods in applied spectroscopy and material characterization. In addition to her teaching and research work, she administers and coordinates conferences for high school students in physics and mathematics.
