From Hollywood to Holy Wars: Hounding celebs, dodging bullets, raising a family abroad
"Packed with whimsy and intrigue. Hart's tale offers a lesson in how to ride with and savor the capricious turns of fate."
Chicago Tribune Columnist Eric Zorn

"A rollicking tale told with heart, humor and poignancy."
Gwen Robinson, former Financial Times Bangkok bureau chief

Hollywood to Holy Wars is for anyone who fantasizes about fleeing the daily grind and seeing the world. In debt after Yale, Cherie Hart jumped at a chance to be a National Enquirer reporter. After three wild years of insane reporting assignments, crashing celebrity weddings and attending bull-fighting school, she became disenchanted and quit.

With only a passport and a dream to fill its pages, she landed a barstool job interview that led to a United Nations writing gig and a 30-year odyssey into the world's hot spots and its snake pits of gossip, power and privilege. She witnessed the aftermath of wars, floods, tsunamis and coups.

Frank and often hilarious, Hollywood to Holy Wars is one woman's poignant tale of chasing a globe-trotting career, juggling life's absurdities, insecurities and heartbreaks, with a husband, kids and two cats in tow.
