Overview

When Patricia Marten was a child growing up in Ireland, even though there was beauty outside her home, the inside knew mostly darkness. She got to know a friend, David, and his family, who were very loving and helped her a great deal. Even so, David inflicted a deep hurt on Patricia, sending her off into a new relationship with someone else-the start of a progressive downward fall. She married Brian, but the relationship was not a happy one. Three years after her divorce with Brian, she met Paul and feel deeply in love with him. But after many turbulent years with Paul, Patricia found herself rejected due to his need for other men. Suffering from severe head injuries from a car accident and in a great deal of pain, she looked around one day and saw her old school Bible. She carefully moved from the bed, picked up the book, sat down, and opened it-entirely by chance-to Psalm 23. As she read the beautiful verses, tears poured down her face; she visualised the Lord, and her heart and soul were soothed. In this personal narrative and testimony, one woman shares her life story and journey to faith, seeking to bring hope to those who have suffered at the hands of others.
