Overview

It's Father's Day and Froggy wants to show his dad how much he loves him. So he flop flops to the kitchen and tries to make his dad breakfast. But Froggy being Froggy, things don't go exactly as planned. Then it's off to the mini golf course, where Froggy attempts to hit a hole in one. Maybe he will be blessed by beginner's luck. Golf balls can take some crazy bounces, though, so Froggy had better be careful. And it also might help if he faced in the right direction when swinging his club! Can you believe the day's not over yet? Froggy still has a surprise gift for the greatest dad on Earth! Jonathan London is beloved by kids everywhere for his wildly popular Froggy series. "Endearingly wry ... easy to love."-Kirkus Reviews

Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly

Everyone's favorite amphibian stars in Froggy's Day with Dad by Jonathan London, illus. by Frank Remkiewicz, the 14th book in the series. For Dad's special day, Froggy plans a special breakfast, a round of bumper boats and a game of miniature golf-all with more than a few zips, thumps, thunks and bonks tossed in. School Library Journal

K-Gr 3-It's Father's Day, and the endearing young amphibian is looking forward to a special time with his dad. After a less than perfect breakfast, the two go to the park to enjoy in recreational activities such as miniature golf and bumper boats. Even though, in typical Froggy style, not everything goes smoothly-there are a few accidents and lots of plodding and flopping-in the end the day is a happy one for both of them. As in Froggy's previous adventures, the simple, energetic illustrations match the pleasantly ordinary and sentimental tenor of the text. This latest day in the life of Froggy is sure to elicit chuckles from readers and will be a welcome addition to any collection needing appealing stories about father-child relationships.-Holly T. Sneeringer, St. Mark School, Baltimore, MD Copyright 2004 Reed Business Information.
