Fresh Water
When Conservation Officer Beth Morrison discovers the bloodied body of a man barely clinging to life, she finds herself confronted with a serious problem. The fact that she was one of the last people seen with him the night before throws Beth to the top of the list of suspects. However, when he claims to have been attacked by a shark, the waters get muddied. His story doesn't seem to hold any merit as the wounds clearly don't match that of a shark attack. And, since this supposed attack occurred in the fresh waters of a lake in northeastern Indiana, no one gives it any credence.
As if Beth doesn't have enough shit to deal with by constantly needing to prove herself worthy of working in a male-dominated profession, she is thrust into a confrontation with her former lover-Mark Taylor-the man who jilted her years ago. Taylor's 8-year-old daughter claims to have seen the shark as well.
With more reports coming in, Beth leads the hunt for the mysterious shark. She must find a way to work with Taylor, two feisty old men involved in a long-standing feud, and Caitlyn Brewer, a diminutive ichthyologist from a local zoo. The odd group needs to discover a path beyond their differences if they are to capture or kill the foreign predator before it strikes again.
The bull shark isn't the only thing terrorizing this lake chain.
