This book is targeted at the English student who is at an intermediate level in French and who wants to increase their French lexicon. It does the heavy lifting of selecting which vocabulary and expressions need to be focused on to allow progression to the next level of French.
The vocabulary and expressions in this book were collected from interactions with the business community as well as friends and family of the author. It is a compendium of approximately 7,500 French words and expressions used by French speakers in their business and everyday life. The book's content is organized alphabetically and by subject where possible. French expressions are regularly included to illustrate the use and meaning of the vocabulary. Introductory level words and expressions are not included except where they illuminate the meaning of the respective vocabulary or expression being examined.
The book is weighted towards finance, investing, selling and information technology. Fortunately, many of the words and expressions from these areas apply across a variety of personal and work experiences.
