About the Author

Nick Courmon is a poet, spoken word artist, workshop facilitator, and motivational speaker from Greensboro, NC. He uses his art to teach African American history, address a myriad of social issues, and to advocate for mental health awareness. He has work published in BROAD magazine, a digital and social justice publication born from the Women's Studies and Gender Studies program at Loyola University Chicago. He has participated in the Southern Fried Poetry Slam and has been featured at the North Carolina African American Cultural Celebration, the National Black Theatre Festival, and the NC African Film Festival.
