Be Inlightened … Diets Don't Work!

We hear it over and over again, "Diet "X" is the only one that has ever worked for me." So we ask, "How many times have you joined that program?" The responses we get indicate that people join the same program multiple times. So is that really working?

Here is the problem as we see it. There is no new learning! Most people can follow the rules of a diet. And anyone can have food delivered to their door. But what generally happens when the diet is over? Most people gain the weight back and then some. Right back to square one. How frustrating!

Dr. Beverly Bird and Gelsie Lessig, RD, LD, have been working with people needing to lose a significant amount of weight for many years. They have combined their years of professional experience into this handbook which is loaded with information on nutrition and psychology Through their handbook, they can show you how to lose weight and keep it off for life. No gimmicks, no hype, just sound professional advice. So read on … and Be Inlightened!”

Dr. Beverly Bird is a licensed professional counselor in private practice in Alpharetta, GA. Before opening a private practice, Dr. Bird worked in various settings, including community mental health, county mental health, hospitals, and large group practices. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her work. Over the past several years much of her focus has been helping individuals with emotional and compulsive over-eating. She enjoys speaking and educating others on the topic of Mindful Eating which put simply, means paying attention to what and how we eat. She is known for her warm and down-to-earth style of helping people understand what holds them back from losing the weight they want and keeping it off for good.

Gelsie Lessig, RD, LD is a licensed and registered dietitian with more than 40 years of experience working with clients needing to lose a significant amount of weight. Her philosophy is: eating foods that are a part of your everyday life, together with moving around more and learning to eat mindfully to teach portion size, are the keys to permanent weight loss. In addition to operating her own private practice, Ms. Lessig served as a diabetic educator at Northside Hospital, Atlanta, GA.
