About the Author

Yolanda grew up in Carlsbad, the southeastern corner of New Mexico, where her closest neighbor at times was seven miles away. There were no streetlights, or population around to distort the beauty of the desert. She grew up very connected to nature, it was her playground. This is why she is, and always has been, very connected to Spirit, its voice and guidance from Earth Mother.

A sibling of 11 who grew up together working the cotton fields with her parents and siblings, all caring for each other and dreaming of more.

Connected with nature Yolanda acted on those dreams that took her commercial fishing with the love of her life and having their daughter. A devastating divorce, and the hard struggles of a single mom she kept going forward as best she could.

Yolanda never lost her connection with earth mother, starting women’s groups called moon lodges that took off across the country. She then pursued Spirit’s call to her drum making which helped her love of singing grow and earning her NAMMY’S for her incredible musical talent.
