FloraBunda is derived from the Latin floribundus, meaning flowering freely, and has lately been applied to a trendy method of doodling that portrays flowers, plants, and other elements of nature, often arranged in repetitive patterns. An introductory section covers basic technique, tools, and using color. The bulk of the workbook is devoted to designs, offering dozens of forms for the reader to copy and experiment with using any drawing media they wish. Included in the designs section are project ideas that suggest ways to incorporate the patterns in larger artworks and as decorative elements on practical objects. Hundreds of illustrations help guide the reader throughout. An included diagramed drawing of a flower provides basic plant vocabulary and details plant structure, so that readers can base their abstractions upon existing plants.
