Overview

As I was producing, composing and writing "The Broken Skyline" and "Early Works" series, based on my painting, I had memories and musings about my life and the process of painting and writing. I decided to combine all those notes and thoughts together to create my own story.

FLIP TO THE END Parts 1 and 2, is also a story derived at artistically through free form and stream of consciousness writing. It includes two videos, including the first video for my documentary So Many Galleries.

About the Author

I'm Eloy, I've been a New Yorker since age seven, when my family relocated to New York from Ecuador. Currently I maintain a studio in the Mott Haven part of the Bronx. I graduated from Parsons University with a degree in Fine Arts. I work as a teacher in order to support my artistic endeavors. The books I've created are inspired by the paintings and photography I've made over the years and concerns about climate change. My students get a kick out of them when I read these to them.

I came to writing by way of painting. In particular the new motifs I was looking for after I graduated Parsons inspired me. Namely the garbage bag, the street signs and street lamps and posts and of course the buildings of my New York city. The second thing that inspired me was the titling of the paintings. I initially started with a simple catalog book for the galleries that I wanted to approach. But after consideration I placed these same images into stories and simply expanded their titles for the story that was in them already. That venture made me create twenty nine eBooks about two particular series that have to do with the Garbage Bag and his friends. Of course these works are a metaphor for environmental concerns.
