About the Author

Born in 1946 near the shores of Lake Michigan in northern Indiana, author Madelynne (Maddy) Sheehan has been gathering, making sense of, and sharing information about Oregon fishing for almost 30 years. Known fondly to many as the state's fishing goddess, she has served as virtual fishing buddy and guide to more than a hundred-thousand anglers, encouraging fishing folks of all persuasions (hardware, bait, and fly) to explore the state's spectacular year-round fishing opportunities. In her spare time Maddy is an attorney in Scappoose, Oregon, where she specializes in estate and elder law and serves as legal counsel to the Northwest Sportfishing Industry Association. She is married to attorney Mike Sheehan, has two daughters and three granddaughters.
