I knew Daniel for several years. In Junior High School, he had been a ball room dance partner to my niece Michaela. They made a beautiful couple and both were champions in national competitions. After coming in fourth one time, he and Michaela gave up ball room competitions.
They should have won that particular contest. Which according to Daniel was proving just how much favoritism there was among the judges. They gave up the sport and Daniel decided that he liked surfing as more fun. Daniel was a blond and very, very cute. He was a friendly boy who was very smart for his age. Some times conversing with him it was like he could read a person's mind and thereby said the exactly best reply. It was one of his many inner gifts.
