A full cast transports listeners straight to the school lunchroom for two silly, sound effects-laden, cartoon-like adventures. Lunch Lady, played by Kate Flannery, is secretly a spy, and she fights crime with the help of gadgets such as cannoli-oculars and a banana boomerang. Cary Hite brings playful energy as the story’s unnamed narrator—and occasionally breaks into the action to speak directly to Lunch Lady. Students Hector, Dee, and Terrence, played by Trey Murphy, Zoe Krosoczka, and Kyan Samuels, sound like the kids they are. Author Krosoczka, who adapted the audio version from the graphic novels himself, pops in a couple of times to correct the pronunciation of his name, and he also reads a note at the end detailing the origins of the LUNCH LADY series.
