Overview

A young red-haired women the Sioux Indian called Fire Hair. She and her toddler son and infant daughter are cast out into the prairie of Minnesota during the Civil War. During the uprising, 677 settlers and 77 cavalry troops are killed. This is her story.

Born in Osceola, Missouri, Meredith Anderson graduated from Weber State University, is a former president of the state wide organization, League of Utah Writers. Makes his home in Osceola. His first book, MORE THAN A JOB, AN ADVENTURE, won the Gold Quill for Literature Award. His book Civil War, Women of Courage is being used at the university by the History Department.
