About the Author

Veteran, motorcycle enthusiast, surfer, Taiji practitioner, dreamer. Now an Indie author with two novels and working on a third, Mr Edwards is a retired Telephone employee who has returned to writing to fulfill his life long ambition to be a published author. He studied English and Creative Writing in the '60s at Rio Hondo College in Whittier, CA under William Burns. After his stint in the Navy during the Vietnam war, he continued studying writing at Mesa College in San Diego, and was a member of The Professional Writers Workshop of San Diego under such luminaries as Chet Cunningham.

The main character of this story has to deal with quite a few changes as he leaves his carefree past to fight in a war. War is never easy, and Edwards shows just how difficult it can be through rich dialogue, active narrative, and detailed settings that provide just enough information to make the reader feel present throughout the story...

This historical fiction, part coming-of-age narrative is a brief look into a life that is struggling to find his place in a world affected by war....This isn't exactly a happy narrative, as Paul and Rosie's love was never ideal, nor conventional. The book touches on many of the realities faced by members of the military including the good and the bad...and the relationships that can grow or wilt in such environments.

Finding Rosie, follows California surfer, Paul Sutton, when he returns home from...his Navy service. Eventually, he decides to return to the Philippines to find (Rosie). There were...a few surprises in the story which I did not see coming...these twists...deepened the plot and gave me a greater insight into the characters.
