Nihilistic Brit-punk rocker Krissy Slate has a mental breakdown on stage...the night of her solo breakout show. Why? Because nine months ago her world was changed after a freak tour bus accident, that resulted in the death of her band leaving her as the sole survivor. Forced to wear the mask of a resilient punk rocker, Krissy continues to struggle with an increasing survivor's guilt, contemplating her own mortality along with the pressure from her managers to continue her career, and after a series of reckless pursuits, she spirals into a dark place of self-destructive behavior.

Abandoning her life in Los Angeles, she returns home to her native England to reconnect with her roots and find somewhere she can call "home." Despite the familiar surroundings, she is equally isolated amongst her working-class father and tough grandmother, and the self-destructive behavior continues, much to the chagrin of her family. After events cause her to re-evaluate her situation, she decides to return to her home town of Burton, England to finally confront her demons.
