Familiar Manor
In the Flint Hills of Kansas, the earth has begun to rot. There is a house out in the middle of nowhere, with no roads leading to it, and those that have gone in have never come back out. It has been claiming lives since its construction in the late nineteenth century, including the off-kilter man who built it. Now it seeks a new victim.
Dylan Sawyer is a young man who lives in the run-down city of Crystal Falls, Kansas, sitting right on the edge of the Flint Hills. A college dropout with very few aspirations since he began working at a plastics factory on the edge of town, he feels like he's trapped in a place he will never escape from. But when the cursed house finally calls out to him and takes him in, he, along with a team of paranormal experts, realize what it really feels like to be trapped someplace. The only hope of their escape is to find the answer to the land's 125 year-old problem: Who, or what, is keeping them there, and how can it be stopped?
In his first horror story, M. Roland, author of The Door and The Life Within, invites you to take a journey to a house that God Himself wished to condemn. It's a place where time has stopped and something evil lurks behind every corridor, spirits remain trapped and controlled to its bidding, and nobody ever gets out, alive or dead.
