About the Author

J. M. Holmes was born and raised in Canada and educated in the Classics by Jesuits and nuns.

Wholeheartedly endorsing Bertold Brecht’s aphorism that “The one who laughs has not yet heard the terrible news”, Holmes prefers to go through life laughing, and stubbornly maintains a state of blissful ignorance in all matters except the welfare of the seven feral cats who have invaded the author’s residence.

Amateur beekeeper, film historian, long-distance bicyclist, author, computer whisperer, and the one person who knows how to fix all the world’s problems, Holmes stubbornly defies categorization. When not tending to backyard beehives or rescuing birds and squirrels from bloodthirsty felines, Holmes enjoys correcting people’s grammar, offering unsolicited advice, and engaging in other similarly-endearing behaviours.
