Seventh in the ten-book series featuring warlock Magnus Bane, this brief audiobook follows Magnus's return to New York City in the summer of 1976. Narrator Cecil Baldwin's serious tones match Bane's regal personality and his dismay upon learning how much has changed in the time he was away. A once great love has become a drug addict who leads her fellow vampires on a reckless rampage. Baldwin clearly conveys Bane's disgust upon having to intercede with the werewolves on her behalf.
