Faithfull Forever... [Clear Vinyl]

Overview

As was common with numerous U.S. albums by British Invasion acts of the era, Faithfull Forever was patched together from various odds and ends, rather than being conceived as an album unto itself. So while there are some good songs here, like "Counting," "Tomorrow's Calling," and "With You in Mind," it isn't a particularly inspired collection of material, combining some 1966 singles, songs that would show up on her 1967 U.K. LP Love in a Mist, and various leftovers. About half of these cuts, though, have never or not often appeared on reissues and compilations, and three songs somehow were never issued anywhere else (even in Britain). Those three aren't too remarkable, but for the record they're "Lucky Girl," the Norma Tanega-penned "I'm the Sky," and an orchestral-choir-smothered cover of Ewan MacColl's "The First Time," which is a different version than the one that appears on the North Country Maid album. ~ Richie Unterberger
