Overview

Faith, Trinity and The Bully is a book in response to educational awareness in our youth about bullying. Bullying over the years have increased and has resulted in may deaths and unspoken hurts in our kids much younger than expected. Bullying is a societal issue on the rise and must be talked about in different platforms so that elementary aged students begin to understand what bullying is, how it makes their peers feel, why it is wrong, and why it shall not be condoned. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, 42% of kids report bullying due to race, physical appearance, ethnicity, disability, gender, religion, and sexual orientation.

In this children's story, Faith is a very happy 6 year old girl who has a lot of friends. The mean 7 year old Bully, is a loner and is jealous of Faith's many friends. So she plots to make Faith's friends think she is crazy when she sees Faith and Trinity, who is the Unicorn, together and happy. Because she wants to have many friends too, she thinks that by making Faith seem crazy to her friends, that they would unbefriend Faith. Read the story to find out how the Bully's plan backfire.

About the Author

Neka Perkins grew up in a low-income family and community, Longs, South Carolina, which is a small town right outside of the infamous, Myrtle Beach area. She always wanted to give back to her community but just couldn’t figure out just how she could impact so many lives at once. As a pretty good English student throughout school, she knew writing was her strength but still couldn’t quite figure out how she could use her strength to make an impact. It wasn’t until her best friend, Juvockia Melvin, a marketing and business strategist, gave her the idea that she should start writing a journal about Faith that it dawned on her that she should write a children’s book.

Faith is just a young six years old and is living her best life. She is a first grader at the Rock Academy in San Diego, California. Although Faith doesn’t realize the impact she already has on lives, she has impacted so many different people ranging from different ages and races through her intelligence, wisdom, and poise. Faith loves unicorns and although she has never met her sister, Trinity, she talks about her all the time and how much she wishes she could be here. Through this book, we hope that she will always have the memory of her sister and can help end bullying across the globe!
