About the Author

Chanelle M. McElroy was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. After graduating from high school, she pursued her career in nursing with a passion to help others. Chanelle married her husband, Brandyn L. McElroy, in April of 2016. Shortly after, they began the process to relocate to Rio Rancho, New Mexico for Brandyn’s work. During the move they experienced their first miscarriage, which led Chanelle to feeling depressed and anxious about their ability to have children. Chanelle was diagnosed in early 2017 with PCOS and endometriosis. She and Brandyn continued to try for a child after being told that it was not impossible, but it would be difficult for conception.



In May of 2018 they had their second miscarriage, which included a trip to the emergency room. In June of 2018, Chanelle went through a serious fight with depression which brought her to thoughts of suicide while sitting alone in her home. She and her husband prayed fervently for the Lord to intervene and work on their behalf, after this prayer Chanelle heard the Lord speak to her.



She felt God guiding her to write a devotional and heard a promise that He would touch her womb. Despite this, Chanelle experienced yet another miscarriage in August of 2018. She remained faithful to what the Lord asked of her and began to write a devotional. In October she conceived and the pregnancy was viable, and the baby began to grow. Loryn Monique was born at 23 weeks 5 days; 16 weeks and 2 days early. After spending 127 days in 2 different NICU’s, Loryn was able to come home to be with her parents. Chanelle has a passion to uplift, inspire, and encourage other women through their PCOS and infertility journeys. She has made it her mission to tell all that will listen about the importance of having faith, trusting and believing in God to withstand any obstacle.

Faith Beyond the Cycle has blessed me beyond belief. Being a woman, wife, and mother of two, though I have never had to battle with PCOS, each of the devotionals I read has easily applied to the many things that I have either faced or am facing in my life, I thoroughly enjoyed the scripture references used, as well as, the journal assignment at the end of each reading. They are all wonderful ways to reflect, think on God, and remember the promises that God has in store for each of us!

It is an honor to read McElroy's debut devotional journal. I believe this will be the first of many inspirational books she will author. She has endured so much and to have gone through this journey with her has been hurtful and emotional, but so beautiful to also see her arrive to her present season. This devotional is very encouraging and even though I've not been diagnosed with PCOS, I know others going through infertility will gain encouragement!
