Jimmy Buffet, a big city, small-time private eye, finds himself in hot water when he meets a dame with a request. Covered head to toe in tentacles, this woman, born of the Cthulhu bloodline, asks a simple task: Find a missing craftian, Throgger, and bring him back to her. It sounded easy enough to Jimmy. It sounded an awful lot like easy money.
But when Throgger turns up dead, Jimmy will be thrown into two vastly different worlds to solve the case and save both worlds. One is a world of humans and commonplace comfort; the other is a nonsensical world of Elder Gods and their offspring. Solving the case will require intelligence, skill, and charm, none of which Jimmy has.
What he does have, is an office, half a bottle of whiskey, and one last chance to make a name for himself. A chance that he wouldn't let pass him by. A chance the very universe itself wouldn't let him skip.
