About the Author

James C. Klotter is State Historian and professor of history at Georgetown College. He is the author of several books, including, with Lowell H. Harrison, A New History of Kentucky.

Freda C. Klotter, an educational programs consultant for the Kentucky Collaborative for Teaching and Learning, taught in elementary school classrooms for more than twenty-three years.
