About the Author

Jen Lilienstein did her undergrad thesis in 1994 on Multiple Intelligences/whole child education. Her interest really blossomed, though, when her daughter was born seven years ago. It was clear from the get go just how different her spirit was than either parent's. She not only enjoyed different activities, she innately approached problem-solving, communication, and new environments differently.

As Jen delved more deeply into how kids learn, researching personality type, learning styles, multiple intelligences and mind, brain & education science, it became more and more clear that this was information that parents really needed to know.

Just because certain learning, study or organizational techniques worked well for you as a child (or work well for you now) doesn’t mean they will work equally as well for all your children. If we're going to be a partner in our kids' educations and be more effective in how we support and supplement their classroom learning, we need to understand how they are uniquely wired to learn.

Jen wrote her Playbooks for Learning and segmented them by personality type because parents are so busy and she wanted to give them a "cliff's notes version" of research-backed tips, tactics, soft skills and strategies that will work for each of their unique kids--from the classroom to the boardroom.

In addition to founding Kidzmet.com, Jen also serves on the Editorial Board of the National Afterschool Association, the Publications and Platform Committees of the NAA, the Quality Committee of the CA Afterschool Network, and advocates for Afterschool for All with the Afterschool Alliance. She is also a member of BOOST and ASCD.
