About the Author

Mark Del Frate was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he gained an appreciation for nature and a desire for adventure. A high school and college honor roll student, he attended the U.S. Air Force Academy before completing a BS in Civil Engineering at the University of Arizona. After graduation, his father convinced Mark to join him at Palms Trading Company, an Albuquerque wholesaler of Native American Arts and Crafts. He furthered his education with a Finance MBA at the University of New Mexico working days and attending night school.

Mark and his dad built their business and then sold it to family in 1988. This sale helped Mark finance the exotic adventures detailed in his book, Exotic Fly Rod Fishing Adventures. He visited all 50 U.S. states and ten foreign countries including Machu Picchu, Peru, and the Galapagos Islands.

Now semi-retired in Maui, Hawaii, he lives near the beach with his wife, Linda, and two labradoodles, Cora and Gus. Mark has two grown children and two grandchildren who live in Albuquerque. God willing . . . his international adventures will continue.
