About the Author

PIETER-DIRK UYS lives in Darling, South Africa. He is a well-known playwright and has for decades created memorable characters for one-man shows all over the world, including his celebrated alter-ego Evita Bezuidenhout. Uys was awarded South Africa's prestigious Truth and Reconciliation Award in 2001, as well as honorary doctorates from Rhodes University and the universities of Cape Town, the Western Cape, and the Witwatersrand. Evita Bezuidenhout received the Living Legacy 2000 Award in San Diego, USA. Linda Vicquery, who was responsible for the recipes and book design, is a chef and painter who now lives in the south of France.
