Dr Ashok Birbal-Jain, an eminent physician of Wardha, graduated in medical sciences from Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sewagram. He is in active practice since 1983 and has a nursing home with state-of-the-art equipments.

Dr Aruna Jain his wife and an eminent pathologist of Wardha graduated in medical sciences from Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sewagram. Dr Aruna has a hi-tech pathology lab at Wardha.

The doctor couple have authored a book on Bronchial Asthma and another on Diabetes in Marathi. They have acquired deep knowledge in holistic sciences, especially homeopathy, yoga, ayurveda and reiki.

They have conducted workshops on numerous topics at schools and colleges in Wardha, Nagpur, New Delhi and Pune.

They manage the Centre for Diabetes, Heart & Asthma Care and have organised many Continuing Medical Education programmes for doctors.

Asthma is a chronic disease of the airways of the lung. In asthma, the airways are hypersensitive and react to many factors, such as cigarette smoke, pollen or cold air. The reaction causes narrowing or obstruction of airways. The obstruction of airways is reversible.
