The McElroy brothers, hosts of several successful podcasts, offer a conversational, self-deprecating primer on launching or better understanding the process of Internet audio offerings—better known as podcasts. The brothers, along with their extended family, share narration duties, each in a pleasant tone and manner. While much of the information provided is simply common sense, the detailed chapters are enlightening. A key point is that a successful podcast must be coordinated with all varieties of social media. The McElroy brothers consider themselves borderline hilarious. Whether or not they are familiar with “My Brother, My Brother and Me,” and/or “The Adventure Zone,” listeners will likely react to both the liberal sprinkling of well-intentioned guidance and the entirely unnecessary, even greater sprinkling of crude and profane language. That language hampers an otherwise helpful and enjoyable effort. W.A.G. © AudioFile 2021, Portland, Maine
