About the Author

Master goldsmith Edilberto Formigli restored one of the Riace Bronzes in Florence. Currently his interest is archaeo-metallurgy. Gerhardt Nestler works experimentally in the field of ancient goldmithing techniques. He collaborated with Formigli in the �Symposium on Studies in Experimental Archeology� that took place in Murlo in 1992 and focused on the topic of Etruscan granulation. The authors live in Murlo, a small town of Etruscan origins not far from Sienna, Italy.
