About the Author

I was born in South America to an American woman and a British father. When I was very young, we moved to the United States. My father was a mechanical engineer and my mother was very beautiful. We occasionally traveled to Canada for my father's work and later, lived in New york City.

I grew up in the city until the age of eleven, when my parents bought their first home on Long Island. Today, I have four siblings, who have accomplished many things in their careers, from working in oceanography to computer technology.

I worked as a teacher in the primary grades for over thirty-one years, most of them in Colorado. One of my favorite subjects to teach was history. My young students were taught about history through role playing. My other love was maps. Through the study of maps, history and economy seemed to come alive for me.

From a young age, I wrote mini-books, read books, and created poems. I would soon become interested in writing more than poems, though, as I enrolled in a writer's course. But my career and family distracted me for years. After retiring from education, I sought to create paintings and stories that I could share.

Researching my ancestry led me into this fascination with the ancient tribes and how they changed history. I decided to write my first book to address all the issues that people had then, that still remain to this day, as well as to encourage people to read about history in an enjoyable format.
