Purpose: The purpose is to provide the clinical knowledge and technical expertise to master novel endovascular approaches to complex aortic disease. This is a worthy objective, as the average practicing vascular surgeon does not have broad exposure to complex endovascular repair in practice. The book is exceptionally thorough and meets its purpose. It covers all aspects of clinical care, from basic concepts and imaging to complications of complex endovascular repair and even how to build a complex aortic program. It not only has excellent technical descriptions, but also provides over 600 specialized illustrations.
Audience: The book is written for practitioners in any field that encounters patients with complex aortic repair. Although likely most appropriate for vascular and endovascular surgeons, this book is a fundamental resource for all who treat these patients. It is also written in a way that residents and fellows can understand. The authors are leaders in the field of vascular surgery and have the utmost credibility.
Features: The book is divided into eight sections: basic concepts and perioperative planning, building complex endovascular aortic programs, techniques of implantation and adjunctive procedures, visceral artery incorporation, arch branch incorporation, internal iliac artery branch stent-grafts, physician-modified endovascular stent-grafts, and complications of complex endovascular aortic repair.
