What People are Saying About This

From the Publisher

"The strong point of the second edition...is its synthesis of nursing research in many different areas....Written in easily understandable language, the 320 entries by 200 experts are arranged in alphabetical order; 30 percent are new to this edition. This book provides succinct summaries of major theorists, research findings, and many other aspects of nursing....By summarizing existing studies and using understandable language, this book can really jump-start evidence-based practice in a variety of nursing settings. It is an indispensable reference not only for researchers and graduate students, but also for practice-based research councils and evidence-based practice teams....This encyclopedia will be a very valuable addition to academic libraries supporting nursing or medical programs....Highly recommended. Lower level undergraduates through professionals/practitioners."—Choice

"Whether in clinical practice or in an academic setting, the information contained in the Encyclopedia of Nursing Research provides research-based knowledge that is comprehensive and current. Authored and guided by leading nurse researchers, the content in ENR gives the reader critical information on topics ranging from research methods and design to nursing theory and nursing language. ENR is an essential reference for graduate students and clinicians interested in a concise, well written, and accurate research guide to promote evidenced-based nursing care.

—Dorothy A Jones, EdD, RN, FAAN

"Kudos to Fitzpatrick and Wallace for expanding the first Encyclopedia of Nursing Research—a reliable source of information on the major areas of nursing research in the past 20 years. This authoritative, comprehensive reference for researchers, clinical scholars, and graduate students spans a broad range of health science phenomena and research methods. Research methods cover areas from action science to time series analysis, and substantive phenomena are equally diverse, beginning with adherence and attitudes and ending with wellness and women's health. A wonderful resource!"

—Diana Taylor, RN, PhD, FAAN
Professor Emeritus, School of Nursing
University of California, San Francisco

"This reference text is a welcome addition to assist individuals to navigate within the growing field of nursing research"

—Warren G. Hawkes, MLS
