This dictionary has been encyclopedic in its contents and style of representation which is evident from the comprehensiveness of its coverage and contextual of relevance of explanations with illustrations and mathematical expressions wherever necessary. Throughout the process of compilation and editing the volumes our sincere efforts was to make the dictionary serve as a ready reference for undergraduate and post graduate economic students and for those appearing for competitive examinations, research scholars, teachers, and authors but also for economic administrators, planners, journalists, business managers, politicians and the general reader with a little bit of interest in economics but possessing economic consciousness. Every effort has been carefully made to write the entries in a clear and lucid style to provide both straight forward definitions and invaluable background information. At some appropriate places, line diagrams have been included whenever the meaning of a word can be best understood by means of a diagram.
