About the Author

Dr. Hans Raj (b.1928) is Ph. D from Aligarh Muslim University. Formerly, Director, Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi, he has been twice Senior Fellow of that Council. A Prolific writer, he has authored many outstanding books including Privileges of Members of Parliament in India; Rethinking Presidency and Parliament in India; Executive Legislation in Colonial India; Constitution of India; Contemporary Problems of Indian Polity ; Comparative Politics ;Theory and Practice in Social Research etc. He has both directed and completed several research projects of Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi and Indian Council of Historical Research, New Delhi. He has contributed several research articles and book reviews in research journals and national dailies. He is member of several Professional bodies. He has recently completed his research work on "Parliamentary Privileges in India- Some Issues and Trends. "
