About the Author

Emily Post (born Emily Price) (1872-1960) was an American author most closely identified with her works on etiquette. Born in Baltimore, Post and her family relocated to New York, where she lived most of her life. Post's early writing career included light novels and travelogues, but her big break came with the publication of ETIQUETTE in 1922. By the 1930s her columns on etiquette appeared in hundreds of newspapers, making her a perennial expert on the subject. She died aged 87 in 1960.
