Overview

The murky world of the confidential informant is a risky way to live a life. Taking it to extremes only means one thing. Mortal danger...

When tragedy strikes, for Elsie there is only one thing left to do. Make sure those responsible pay for what they did. She has one advantage... as a rough sleeper she's already under the radar.
She's not a typical rough sleeper. For her it's a bitter choice, not a necessity. Twenty-one years old, intelligent and smart, she could have been anything she wanted, if not for one fateful episode a few short years ago, which instantly ended every dream she ever had. Betrayed and demoralised, she finally quit what was once a happy home and joined the sleeper community in Norwich, soon discovering she had more in common with people who accepted her for who she was, than she did with those she left behind.

Elsie has forged a life on the streets, now and again taking a liberty or two, but generally staying within the bounds of the law. She's formed a strong bond with a teenage boy, who she tries to look out for... even though he's only two years younger. It's not easy, especially of late... she worries he's sinking into a quicksand he'll never get out of, but he refuses to even talk about it.
She's not his mum... their friendship is more important than behaving like one.

Then, the day arrives that changes her life. An unfortunate set of circumstances leads to Elsie coming face-to-face with someone who makes an unexpected and dramatic impact.
A great big, impossible to ignore impact.
It all starts with getting arrested for indecent exposure...

About the Author

The RTG mission in life is simple... to not be like everyone else!
‘Going Green’ has taken on a new meaning, in the book world at least. Whilst we applaud the original meaning (ebooks and audiobooks are a perfect way to promote that) we also try to present a different angle to it.
The tendency these days is that if you don’t look and read like everyone else, you don’t sell books. Maybe there’s some truth in that, but we simply don’t do it. The RTG books have been described as a ‘breath of fresh literary air’, and, by those discovering us for the first time, ‘unexpectedly good’. We know many readers prefer the same-old same old, and that’s fine.
It’s just not what you get from the RTG stable.

Those who know about such things said it would take five years to become a proficient author... I scoffed at that. They were wise. It took six. It’s one reason why even today we remodel existing books, and will always do so. Right from the early years the stories were always good, but were put into words less well than they could have been!

These days we have several series and a few standalones, the hit Daisy series most popular amongst them. In everything we do, the same provisos apply –

1) Never the same book twice.
2) If we can’t think up a good story, it doesn’t get written.

The RTG brand is about exciting and twisty plots, a fast pace which doesn’t waste words, and endearing (sometimes slightly crazy) characters. We can never please everyone, but it works for us, and, it seems, for those who appreciate our work.

Enjoy! Richard, Ann and the RTG crew
