Overview

This book is about the lasting effect abuse has on children.
I was just four years old. When I watched as my dad dragged my mother into the bathroom by her hair. She was kicking and screaming the whole way. She was trying to put up a good fight. Dad ignored her screams of anguish. He was drunk again and oblivious to her pain.
I dont know why I chose today to do something about it.

These stories are true to the best of my abilities. These things and more happened to each and every one of us kids. This is just a small sampling of some of what we had to endure. While our mother was still alive more could have been added.

These stories here contain only the first seven years of my life and the lives of my brothers and sisters. As I got older the abuse was often worse. That is why I am writing it all down. I am hoping to stop the abuse for some poor child. Even if I stop the abuse of just one child it will have been worth it. Reliving the pain and suffering all over again.

About the Author

Norma Jean began writing a journal as an adult. More and more of the entries were about specific events of her childhood. When she realized others did not have the same history she decided to put these memories into what has become a five book series titled The Tin Train.
Norma's primary goal in publishing these works is to help others understand child abuse as the child sees it. She hopes this will inspire someone to step up and stop the abuse.
