Overview

Many millennium ago, the continents of the world were combined into one kingdom: TaLoria. The people of TaLoria were governed by the Four Guardians, sisters blessed with control of the elements. Unbeknownst to the Guardians, a secret plot to destroy the harmony in TaLoria was brewing in the heart of their adviser, Itzal. Through his cunning, Itzal caused war to erupt throughout the kingdom, leaving nothing but death and destruction in its wake. At the conclusion of the war and having failed to gain the powers he sought, Itzal took matters into his own hands and murdered the sisters. Still, one fought back, and Itzal's plans were thwarted.

Over the course of the centuries, Itzal has sought for the one who escaped his grasp, taking with her the ultimate power. Now, Cassi Greenleaf, an average girl from a small town in Oklahoma, will discover her place in this deadly game. The clock is ticking, and Cassi must find the strength within herself to face Itzal and prevent him from gaining what he most desires: her death.

Krysten Conkling grew up with her nose in a book, and dreamed of one day seeing her name on bookshelves across the world. Books have always seemed more like dear friends to Krysten, rather than a chore. She has a degree from Oklahoma State University in English and is aspiring to be an English teacher. Her goal is to share her love of literature with future generations. In addition, she is a color guard instructor and enjoys sharing her passion for the performing arts with her students.
