About the Author

When Musa Muhaiyaddeen was in graduate school, the youth of America were erupting into what may be called America’s cultural revolution. Ideas as to what was important in life and attitudes towards life in general were beginning to change. He began to question the reasons for existence. It was becoming apparent to him that most people did not understand this. They were giving answers to questions according to their own level of understanding. In essence, they were doing the best they could, but this was not satisfactory to him. He began on a course to find real answers to my questions. Questions like, why am I here? What is the purpose of my creation? What is my relationship to my Creator? What is our true relationship with the rest of mankind? How are we supposed to act? What is my destiny? Musa was looking for the truth based in reality, not based on fictitious imaginations of the people I had been talking to. In March of 1972 he was living near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and got word that a teacher had somehow landed there. He was a small, dark-complexioned man from Sri Lanka. When the author first stepped into his presence he knew something was different. He could not put it into words, but knew he was now in front of someone who was based in reality. He knew he had met my teacher. This relationship lasted fourteen years until his teacher passed from this world in December of 1986. During this time he taught Musa Muhaiyaddeen what a person needs to do to become a true human being. The teacher became the mirror so that he could see what he was supposed to become. His name was Muhammad Raheem Bawa Muhaiyaddeen. He was love personified, he was mercy personified, he was compassion personified. God in His mercy continues to send those with the knowledge of God into this world to teach others about their Creator and how to become true human beings and enter reality. Our birthright is to be elevated from lower consciousness to elevated consciousness or wisdom, so that we can know our Lord and know reality.
