Este cuento trata sobre la infidelidad de una mujer a su marido. Lady Sannox era una mujer hermosa a la que le gustaba ser admirada. Douglas era un cirujano al que le gustaba lady Sannox por lo que le mando una carta para quedar. La carta se extravió y llego a Lord Sannox. Este ingenió un plan, se hizo pasar por comerciante junto a su mujer y se inventó que ella tenía una herida que le mataría en pocos días. Douglas aceptó operar a la mujer y cuando le cortó el labio donde tenía la herida se desveló la verdad.
