Leadership is one of the most important skills in life today. We all face leadership situations in our lives and unfortunately many of us are not ready for them. We are leaders when we become parents to our children, we are leaders many times at our jobs, we sometimes become leaders at our churches, at our communities, and among our friends. If we shy away from our responsibilities as leaders it only hurts us and those around us. It is critical that we are able to learn to be able to master leadership skills in order to be able to face the challenges of our lives.
Effective Leadership Skills Instructor Manual is for teachers of leadership skills. It provides a framework for several lessons on leadership skills. These lessons are a foundation for a leadership class and may be the basis for a leadership program. The lessons can be taught as a class over a period of a year, a semester, or a summer program. They are flexible enough to do many different activities with or be modified for any age of students. The lessons can be taught to elementary, secondary, and college students.
These lessons are not to replace leadership opportunities for students. They also are not a substitute for students pursuing leadership career paths such as political science. The lessons are to help build confidence and give students a sense of what a good leader should be. Even the most timid students can gain leadership qualities through these lessons.
Teachers need to be able to make the lessons there own providing their own unique style of teaching. It is important to get students involved as much as possible and to be able to get them problem solving and working together as a team. The lessons are designed to help students to be able to learn to cooperate with others and to lead teams in solving problems.
