About the Author

Peter Christen Asbjørnsen (1812–1885) was a Norwegian writer and zoologist. Alongside his lifelong friend, Jørgen Engebretsen Moe, he began researching and collecting Norwegian folklore. Their work is closely unified and commonly referred to as Asbjørnsen and Moe.
