About the Author

William Styron was a decorated American novelist who won the Pulitzer Prize and helped found The Paris Review. His works include Sophie’s Choice and The Confessions of Nat Turner.

William Styron (1925–2006), born in Newport News, Virginia, was one of the greatest American writers of his generation.
