While banished to her room for 10 minutes, D.W. begins to feel sorry for herself, believing that she is being treated as a slave by her family and fearing that she may starve before her punishment is up. When Mother brings Kate to D.W.'s room to be watched, D.W. at first resents the additional chore foisted upon her, but soon she and Kate are playing happily, and dinnertime comes too soon.
