It is 1971, and the tension building up between the prisoners and guards at New York's Attica Correctional Facility finally comes to a head: 1,281 out of 2,200 detainees decide to stage a revolution against the prison's management. Attica is an investigative documentary that examines the reason why the facility bore witness to the U.S.' bloodiest prison riot on September 9, 1971 through archival footage and stories from the people directly tied to the event: Attica prisoners, the children of slain staff, lawyers, reporters, and negotiators. Directed by Traci Curry and Stanley Nelson.
